Working For a Healthier Tomorrow
In March 2008 a report was presented to the Secretaries of State for Health and for Work and Pensions, Alan Johnson and James Purnell.  Produced by Dame Carol Black, the report unveiled a vision for a healthier Britain andproposed radical changes to work related health services, making them accessible to all.
The review found that ill health was costing the country £100 billion a year, enough to run the entire NHS and several recommendations were made;
The Government responded later in 2008, ‘Improving Health and Work; Changing Lives’ is a detailed document that every business with a conscience should be aware of.

Naughty, naughty men …. (aged 17-44)
A report produced recently, by tns World panel, shows that “we have a long way to 5 a day!” Shocking results showed that just 12% of the population actually meet the advised 5 a day target, with a further 11% achieving 4 a day.People over 65 are most likely to eat their 5 a day, whilst men, aged 17 to 44 are the least likely.
A regular delivery of fruit to your workplace can help you towards that target, start the day with a banana, they taste surprisingly good with a coffee, mid morning snack on a pear, or have a juicy orange to refresh the palate before lunch.
STOP! Just replace the chocolate bar OR the crisps, nothing drastic, not both, with an apple after lunch and when energy levels dip mid afternoon have another energy boosting banana.
Of course, if you did all of those, you’d only be one portion short of the full 5, and we’d be a very happy supplier…. but seriously, two of the four is very achievable.
